GoPro communication with Trisquel/GNU Linux
My GoPro 11 mini communicates with Win 11 only. It won't show up with Trisquel or Win 7pro. They don't seem to mention Linux on their site, only Windows and Apple. I may have missed something.
Do any Trisquel/GNU Linux users here have experience with GoPro and is there a way to communicate using Trisquel ?
Only have to remove memory card from the GoPro, place in SD adapter, then plug into X230 card slot and it reads the mp4 files OK.
The mp4 files work only on Win 11, when plugging the GoPro in with USB directly. TrisquelGnuLinux plays the audio but freezes the picture, and that's from the SD card directly. Plugging the GoPro directly via USB doesn't show at all. Took a look at Ubuntu methods of making it work but it looks too complex for me. Any ideas ?
I wanted to point out that 'TrisquelGNULinux' doesn't play any video that I know of. For that you need a player like mpv or vlc. I assume you know that. But people can be more helpful if you give precise details. I would like to use a GoPro also so I hope you haven't given up on that with Trisquel.
Thinkpad x230, TrisquelGnuLinux. Hi, VLC is used to play the videos. for a brief period the mp4 videos played OK from the GoPro 11 mini micro SD card, using X230s card reader, after they were copied to the desktop. But yesterday it failed to work and the video looked damaged and only audio worked.
I've not been able to plug the GoPro directly into this laptop (x230) so the card needs removing but is hit and miss with playback. The audio seems to work all the time !
I'll keep testing. Will try and download GoPro app to phone and see how that pans out.
Today have put MP4 and .LRV video files on the desktop from the GoPro. The MP4 fails to play video and the LRV file (lower resolution) plays video and audio OK.
Looks like .LRV is the way to go with TrisquelGNULinux, for me at the moment with the GoPro.
Abrowser or Pale Moon browser is used to play the LRV files.
Also VLC and Basilisk browser play the LRV files OK. :)
